Atomic layer deposition (ALD) is a method of depositing substances layer by layer on a substrate surface in the form of a single atomic film. Atomic layer deposition has similarities with ordinary chemical deposition. At present, ALD technology can be subdivided into TALD, PEALD, SALD, etc. The types of thin films prepared include oxides, nitrogen (carbon) compounds, metal and non-metal elements, covering dielectric layers, conductors, and semiconductors.
