The total suspended particle sampler is an analytical instrument used in the field of earth science, especially in environmental monitoring. It is mainly used to collect particles with an aerodynamic equivalent diameter of less than 100μm, which are usually called total suspended particles (TSP).

The total suspended particle sampler allows a certain volume of air to pass through a filter membrane of known mass at a constant speed, and the particles suspended in the air will be retained on the filter membrane. Subsequently, the mass concentration of the total suspended particles in the air can be calculated based on the mass added to the filter membrane and the volume of air passing through the filter membrane. In addition, this sampler can also be used to further analyze the components such as metals, inorganic salts and organic pollutants in the particles.

The sampler is usually equipped with an air pump inside, which works at a constant speed, and the sampling flow rate can be accurately controlled by a regulating valve and an electronic flowmeter.
