Geothermal probes, also known as ground source heat pumps or geothermal heat exchangers, are devices used to harness the stable temperature of the earth for heating and cooling purposes. These probes are typically installed vertically or horizontally in the ground and consist of pipes through which a heat-conducting fluid circulates.
