Description
Lead tungstate single crystal (PbWO4 single crystal) is an inorganic compound with a specific crystal structure, and its chemical formula is PbWO4. Lead tungstate single crystal is composed of lead (Pb), tungsten (W) and oxygen (O) elements combined in a specific proportion and manner to form a stable crystal structure. Lead tungstate single crystal belongs to the tetragonal system and has a scheelite structure. This structure gives it unique physical and chemical properties. The density of lead tungstate single crystal is relatively high, usually between 8.23g/ml and 11.23g/ml, which makes it advantageous in certain applications. Its melting point is 1123°C, indicating that it has high thermal stability. Lead tungstate single crystal has a low solubility in cold water (such as 0.03g/100mL H2O), decomposes in acid, and is insoluble in ethanol. Lead tungstate single crystal is a scintillating crystal that can emit visible light when excited by high-energy particles or high-energy rays (such as X-rays, gamma rays). This property makes it widely used in nuclear medicine, high energy physics, nuclear technology, space physics and oil exploration. The scintillation performance of lead tungstate single crystal is not lower than that of other tungstate crystals, and its scintillation performance is excellent, which can efficiently convert the received ray energy into visible light signals.
