The background workstation usually runs the graphical user interface PSCAD and communicates with the RTDS real-time simulation chassis using Ethernet. The simulation software platform (such as RSCAD) and hardware platform (such as NovaCor) of RTDS are specially designed for real-time simulation of power systems.
