A surface mount PTC thermistor is a type of thermistor that is characterized in that it can be surface mounted to a circuit board. PTC, the positive temperature coefficient. This means that when the temperature increases, the resistance value of the PTC thermistor increases. PTC thermistors are widely used in circuits for circuit protection and temperature control. When the current passes through the PTC thermistor, if the current is too large or the ambient temperature is too high, the resistance value of the PTC thermistor will increase, thereby limiting the flow of current and protecting the circuit from damage. At the same time, the PTC thermistor can also be used as a temperature sensor to detect the change of the ambient temperature by measuring the change of its resistance value.
