The biggest difference between the two is that the CPU, which generates the most heat, in the plate-type liquid-cooled server does not directly contact the cooling liquid. This technology has lower cost and technical requirements compared to immersion liquid-cooled servers, so it is more widely used globally. The immersion liquid-cooled server fully submerges the server in a medium for cooling. There are two types of cooling mediums: air-cooling and liquid-cooling, with liquid-cooling having three sub-types: water, mineral oil, and electronic fluorine.
