Low pressure chemical vapor deposition (LPCVD) is a chemical vapor deposition technology, which uses heat to initiate the reaction of precursor gas on solid substrate. This reaction on the surface is the reason for the formation of solid materials. LPCVD is used to deposit various possible film components with good conformal step coverage. These films include a variety of materials, including polysilicon for gate contact, thick oxides for isolation, doped oxides for global planarization, nitrides and other dielectrics.
