A Solder Mask Exposure System is a piece of equipment used in the manufacture of printed circuit boards (PCBs). The solder mask is a protective layer applied to PCBs to insulate the copper traces from environmental factors and prevent solder bridges during assembly. The exposure machine is used during the process of applying the solder mask. It exposes the PCB to ultraviolet (UV) light through a film or a photomask that contains the desired circuit pattern. The areas of the PCB covered by the solder mask film are shielded from the UV light, while the rest of the board is exposed. After exposure, the PCB is developed, similar to a photographic process, to remove the unexposed solder mask material, leaving behind the desired pattern.

The solder mask is a protective layer applied to PCBs to insulate the copper traces from environmental factors and prevent solder bridges during assembly. The exposure machine is used during the process of applying the solder mask. It exposes the PCB to ultraviolet (UV) light through a film or a photomask that contains the desired circuit pattern. The areas of the PCB covered by the solder mask film are shielded from the UV light, while the rest of the board is exposed. After exposure, the PCB is developed, similar to a photographic process, to remove the unexposed solder mask material, leaving behind the desired pattern.
