An automotive supercapacitor is an energy storage device designed for use in vehicles, particularly electric and hybrid vehicles. Unlike traditional batteries, supercapacitors store and release energy rapidly, making them ideal for capturing and discharging regenerative braking energy and providing quick bursts of power. These capacitors store electrical energy in an electrostatic field, allowing for numerous charge and discharge cycles without a significant loss of performance. They help enhance the efficiency of automotive systems, improve energy recovery, and support high-power demands during acceleration, thus contributing to the overall energy management and performance of electric vehicles.
