  • Global Real Time PCR Kits Surges in 2020 due to COVID-19 - QY Research Report

QY Research has published a new report on the global Real Time PCR Kits market. The global Real Time PCR Kits market was valued at US$ 2025 million in 2019 and it is expected to reach US$ 3614 million by the end of 2026, growing at a CAGR of 7.28% during 2021-2026.

Real-time PCR has become an increasingly popular technique for analysis of gene expression. There are two primary methods of real-time PCR that can be performed. The first involves including the reverse transcriptase step in the same tube as the PCR reaction (one-step). The second method involves creating cDNA first by means of a separate reverse transcription reaction and then adding the cDNA to the PCR reaction (two-step). There are advantages and disadvantages to both systems that you should considered before choosing the best one for your application, these include the ease of use and cost of reaction to the resulting yield and sequence representation. One-step reactions are certainly easier to set up with less overall hands-on time, but do not provide the flexibility and control that is possible with two-step reactions.

Global Real Time PCR Kits Market- Key Players

Roche, Abbott, Agilent Technologies, Qiagen, Thermo Fisher Scientific, DAAN Gene, Hologic, Diagenode, Bio-Rad, Takara Bio, Meridian Bioscience, Toyobo, SSI Diagnostica, Genekam are some of the key players, functioning in the global Real Time PCR Kits market.

Roche and Thermo Fisher Scientific lead the market globally. In 2019, Roche accounted for 22.20% sales market share, and Thermo Fisher Scientific held 20.85% sales share.

Global Real Time PCR Kits Market- Driver Analysis

In the last several years, global market of real time PCR kits developed rapidly. COVID-19 virus outbroke in the early 2020 and spread fast globally. In the past few months, USA, India, Brazil have suffered COVID-19 virus outbreak consecutively.

With India deciding to hold Covid-19 testing using the rapid antibody test kits after quality and pricing issues surfaced, the molecular testing method, known as RT-PCR, is in focus. Indigenous real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test kit manufacturers have gone full throttle to expand production. More and more countries adopt rapid antibody test kits for COVID-19, demand of real rime PCR kits surges in 2020.

Global Real Time PCR Kits Market: Segmental Analysis

There are two types real time PCR kits in the market. One is one-step real-time RT-PCR and the other is two-step real-time PCR. With one-step real-time RT-PCR, the quality of the RNA used in the reaction is very important, as all of the cDNA is used for the subsequent PCR step, also the reaction conditions needed to support both the RT and PCR may not be optimal for either reaction, affect efficiency and yield. Because of this, one-step reactions may require substantially more RNA in your initial samples if you are performing multiple amplifications and variation between these different RT reactions can complicate assay interpretation significantly. One-step real-time RT-PCR is therefore generally less sensitive than two-step RT-PCR.

Global Real Time PCR Kits Market: Region Analysis

North America, Europe, Asia Pacific, South America, Middle East and Africa are analyzed in the report. North America holds the largest consumption share while Asia Pacific owns fastest growth.
