Global non-dairy creamer sales reached 2748 kt in 2017

​Powdered non-dairy creamer or coffee whitener has become an increasingly important ingredient used to replace milk powder in white coffee or tea, beverages, culinary and other food preparation. It is more economical, has good shelf life and is easy to handle.

The sales of non-dairy creamer increases from 2167 K MT in 2012 to 2748 K MT in 2017, with an average growth rate of more than 6.1%. In the world wide, US, EU, Singapore, China, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines, Indonesia and Myanmar are the major manufacturing regions.

This industry is affected by the policy. United States food and Drug Administration (FDA) declared that since January 1, 2006, they required all ingredients list of foods’ packaging must be marked clearly the content of trans-fatty acids. Since then, the Netherlands, France, Sweden, etc. enact legislation setting limit on trans-fatty acids, and it usually dictates fewer than 5%: the Dutch below 5%, French below 3.8%, and the Swedish below 5%.

The key consumption markets locate at developed countries. The United States takes the market share of 32%, followed by Europe with 21% in 2017. China’s consumption market has a quicker growing speed of CAGR 8%.
